Title:   Operations Expert

Status/Shift:  Full Time Exempt

Position Summary:  
Identify and collect relevant and timely data, deviations, and waivers from operational HQ elements, functional components and task forces. Maintain and utilize various database, analytical, and visualization tools to support assessment execution. Conduct follow-up data collection through the development/distribution of surveys and questionnaires in order to determine rationale for identified issues. Produce reports and briefings to align findings with other ongoing assessment/analysis efforts and/or disseminate assessment results. Execute assessment tasks during Command Tier 1-level Exercises. Determine appropriate modifications to current assessment methodology for each OPORD. Support the development/identification of objectives, effects, tasks, measures of effectiveness (MOE), measures of effectiveness indicators (MOE-I), measures of performance (MOP) and measures of performance indicators (MOP-I) within each OPORD. Conduct Vol 12 Assessments. Conduct analysis of data to produce assessment findings. Examples include, but are not limited to, identification of operational shortfalls, risks, vulnerabilities, and capability gaps.

Conduct Nuclear Weapons Security Assessments. Determine appropriate modifications to established assessment methodology for nuclear weapons security.

Conduct ad hoc nuclear, space, and cyber mission area assessments.

Conduct ad hoc nuclear, space, and cyber mission area data collection initiatives.

Qualifications Required:  
Top Secret clearance eligible for special access

Critical thinking skills, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Ability to prepare a well-grounded, defensible argument

Understands the interrelationships between domain of expertise and other domains

Ability to work well with other organizations and personnel with disparate backgrounds

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and with a team

Experience in MS Office software, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint required; experience in MS Project and MS Access, desired

Familiarity with Joint processes, operations, and commands.

Familiarity with end-to-end operations and processes from National level through Unit execution

At least 5 years’ of experience in one of USSTRATCOM’s assigned UCP mission areas

Qualifications Desired:  
Work experience that required developing tasks/measures of performance and indicators.
