  Examples of Training Aids
and Courseware Elements

Training courses often require visual aids that help communicate information about concepts, relationships, physical characteristics, or procedural flow.  This page contains a small number of the visual aids we have developed to support our customers.  Many of these components can work equally well within electronic courseware or as stand-alone elements in an instructor-led classroom environment.

Note:  Narration and other audio files have been removed from the examples shown on this page.

A Simple Chart

Often, a simple chart is all that's needed to communicate an idea or group of related ideas.  This sample is a simple consolidation of some of the most common electrical circuit formulas and how they relate to each other.

Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) Patch Animation

The Joint Standoff Weapon animation shown here illustrates how a simple item like a patch or other static image can be animated.  Animations of this type can be useful for introducing a course, a segment of the course, as an attention step.      Graphic and Selectable Link to JSOW Title Animation

Eagle Vision Satellite Antenna Line Drawing

The Eagle Vision system is a commercial satellite imagery system that consists of a mobile satellite tracking antenna, and data acquisition and data integration system terminals.  The animation shown here is a composite of the steps taken to assemble the mobile antenna.      Graphic and Selectable Link to Eagle Vision Antenna Line Drawing Animation

Spectrum Analyzer

The training process takes a student from a known topic they understand to learning new information -- commonly called "going from the known to the unknown."  One of the courses we developed required students that were familiar with oscilloscope operation to learn about how a Spectrum Analyzer worked. On the right, is a simple animation used to explain the concept.      Graphic and Selectable Link to O-Scope vs Spectrum Analyzer Animation

Electrical Circuit Animation

Following electrical flow through circuits is often a challenging task.  It is even more difficult to teach, especially since most complex circuits have multiple modes of operation.  Our unique approach to displaying energized circuits enables a student easily see how the current flows through a circuit.  At the same time, our design approach make changing the schematic easy if there are technical data changes.      Graphic and Selectable Link to Overlaid Animation on Actual Technical Schematics

DITSCAP Process

Although technical information is often difficult to understand, complexities of a management concept can be equally daunting.  This sample shows the DOD Information Technology System Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP).  After selecting the animation, you can use your mouse to select arrows on the circle.  When a flowchart appears,  a mouse click on the chart, will make it appear large so the students can examine the steps.  To return to the original chart, click on the DITSCAP circle in the upper right corner.  This interactive animation allows students or instructors to examine the whole DITSCAP process in a single screen display.      Graphic and Selectable Link to Multi-layered DITSCAP Process Animation

Sample of ISD Model

Instructional Systems Development is a well defined repeatable process of determining what needs to be taught and the managing the development ands delivery of the training information.  This model shows an interactive representation of the ISD model we use in courseware development.      Graphic and Selectable Link to Multi-layered ISD Process Animation
